A Life Once Lost to Play free Owensboro show Saturday

Did I wake up in an alternative universe Owensboro, where everything is suddenly much cooler?

This Saturday (May 9), another nationally known metal band will grace the city, when A Life Once Lost will play a free show at the International Bar-B-Q Festival.

A Life Once Lost will play the Old-School Stage School-Age/United Youth Stage beginning at 9 p.m. Saturday. ALOL will close a day-long metal fest that begins at 1 p.m. Saturday, and includes performances by Thy Will Be Done and Ambush.

On Friday, Tony Danza Tapdance Extravaganza to the Bar-B-Q Festival for a 9 p.m. show on the School Age Stage.

It’s free, Grade-A metal, guys and girls. Be there one or both nights to support the local scene.

My acquaintance with A Life Once Lost has been brief, but I’d say they remind me greatly of a certain southern metal band everyone seems to know and love (yes, that would be Lamb of God, so there). I’m not passing judgment on ALOL … in fact, I’d say if I were in a band and someone compared the sound to LOG, I’d take it as a compliment.

And did I mention both shows are free? Free, free, free?

Here, you can check out ALOL for yourself on their MySpace page. You can here Tony Danza Tapdance Extravaganza here.

Also, here are ALOL’s videos for “Vulture” and “Firewater Joyride.”
